RELEASE 9 CDROM MAILED
The CIS/ED Release 9 CDROM was mailed to purchasers on June 21, 2001. This release contains entries published through 1999.
This release is shipped with a condensed version of the User Guide. The full text of the UG is contained in electronic format on the CDROM itself.
Most of the material on this edition of the database has been available in preliminary form on the Web query site since January, 2001. The delay for the CDROM distribution is due to the additional steps required to check and assemble files in permanent form.
In addition to updating the coverage by a year, this CDROM includes:
- an updated version of the popular CIScd software used for searches on Windows and Mac platorms, and
- a new SQL (Structured Query Language) version of the database, together with a program that can be used to search it on Windows computers.
