REVISIONS TO WEB LICENSE TERMS
A number of revisions have been made to the CIS Web license. These fix some language that was originally written for the CDROM product and is no longer appropriate, as well as some other problems that were noted in our discussions with various customers. We expect that subscribers will find this to be an improvement over previous license language. The revisions do not change fees or definitions of license scope for the Web license.
The new license language can be downloaded at http://www.statindex.org/Forms/License-clickthrough.pdf. A version showing changemarked differences between the old and new license language is at http://www.statindex.org/Forms/License-clickthrough-changes02-4.pdf; this document also includes some explanatory notes on the revisions.
Any subscriber who assented (through the "click-through" web page) to the previous license terms and wishes to immediately move to the new terms can resubmit the access request form at http://query.statindex.org/request.html. (Please enter "confirm new license only" in the IP range box, if your current IP ranges are correct.) You will be asked to do so anyway at the next renewal.
While this revision only affects the Web license, some similar changes will appear in the CDROM license with the next distribution.
